My New Collection Designs/ Sketches

My Image: For my collection, which for the record is not even close to finished, you will see a lot of neutral colors. Also a lot of sheer and soft fabrics and edges. Going along with my love for contrast, I have created a line with a lot of tailored pieces that are paired with loose fitting pieces. The fabric covered buttons add a soft side to the collection along with the chiffon and silk fabrics.

1: This look almost makes me think of vampires although that is not my inspiration. The top is loose chiffon in the front and cotton in the back. The back tank underneath is a spandex and cotton compound and the skirt is silk.

2: This look a great example of the kind of tailored and loose contrast that I love, it is sort of a theme in my collection. The top is made of the same chiffon in look 1 but with out the cotton in the back. The dress is made if black silk.

3: This is what would be considered as a finale look. It consists of different fabrics mostly chiffon and silk. There is a tulle and silk bow in the back.

4: This look is yet again another example of tailored and loose, soft and edgy. The top is a white tailored blazer with back stitching and buttons. The skirt is a soft pink chiffon and has many layers.

5: The top is a thin knit sweater with black and silver woven into the grey. The skirt is made from the same silk as the fitted dress in look number 2.

This is my sketch book. I have had it for a few years and I have many drawings and creations in these pages. I got it for Christmas a few years ago from my aunt. This book contains the works of this collection.

Christian DIOR Spring and Summer FASHION SHOWWWWW!!!!!!

So, another designer I love, love, LOVE is Christian Dior. This is a fantastic line and doesn't fail to meet to highly set standards given the head designer, John Galliano, was fired in March. I love the soft colors that were chosen for this line and I think that they were strung throughout the line very nicely. These photos are from the Dior spring and summer 2011 fashion show in France.

My new FAVE style!!

My style has changed A TON over the few years that I have lived on this beautiful plant. My style is now turning more bohemian and artsy nowadays. I don't really care about fitting in with my style anymore, I just wear what I like. You can't say that you love fashion with out being able to have your own style. A brand that I really like is Elisabeth and James. They have more hipster type clothing but they haven't quite managed to reach that raw feeling but I guess that comes with more mixing and matching. But I love these looks none the less, here are a few samples from their spring collection-

I love big, baggy sweaters or shirts paired with tailored shorts or a skirt. It is a prefect contrast of tailored and free. I would wear this outfit just as it is.
Again, a contrast between tailored and baggy. I love the white blazer, it makes this outfit so chic whilst it is still unique because it is paired with a pair of baggy pants.
I love the sweater and shorts in this. I guess I just love contrast because in this one you have the long sweater and socks but you are wearing shorts.
Another outfit that I would wear just as it is. The hat adds a cute, whimsical touch to the whole combination.
I think this outfit is just so chic but still has a bohemian feel to it with the material. Absolutely love!

Another thing that I love is bracelets! I love wearing lots of bracelets, I like to mix and match styles, colors and sizes. Each bracelet that I wear has some sort of meaning or importance to me, it makes it more special to wear them. I think that the bracelets add a lot to the whole bohemian look. I am not sure who's bracelets these (^) are but I thought that this kind of represents what my wrists look like.

I also love crop tops and this one (^) kind of looks like a couple that I own. They are so comfortable and I love wearing them, especially as the weather gets warmer. I like mine more artsy and original but of course there is the classic American Apparel ones that come in just about every color.

One last thing that I am IN LOVE with is bows! Especially the ones from American Apparel. The Picture above is of a girl (in a very cute outfit, i might add) with a bow in her hair. I thought it was a good example of what I am talking about with the bows. Also the bows come in many different colors, this one is a color that I just love.

My eye!!!

This is a picture of my eye that my friend Chloé took and edited a little.

This is a picture of my eye that I took and edited a little. I think it is a really awesome picture and thought it would be cool to share. My eye color is a little different then how it appears in these two photos, my eyes are blueish green with yellow flecks in the middle. I think that eyes are really cool/weird and I love photography so I decided to share.

And interestingly enough, earlier this year I wrote a poem about eyes for english class. The assignment was to choose something to make an ode for and I chose eyes because hey, they are pretty important. I will add my ode to this post later, I just need to get it from school.

I absolutely LOVEEEEE Marc Jacobs and after an amazing fall line, I was so excited to see the spring and summer line. These are not all the looks but they are for sure my favorites! I would say my top three out of all of these are probably 1, 4 and 8. I love all the different materials that are used but you see a lot of flowy yet sophisticated looks. And a lot of artsy bows and flowers made of excess fabric and material.  Love this line and I encourage everyone to go to MarcJacobs.com to view the rest of the line.

My New Top Favorite Artists and Groups

SIA on of my new favorite artists. She is so talented and my favorite son of hers is "You've Changed" but her entire "We Are Born" album is great. I would describe her music as similar to pop but doesn't have that dancy vibe to it. She has even worked with Christina Aguilera and Zero 7.

Erin McCarley is another amazing artist. Her voice is just gorgeous and her songs are great too. I love her song called "Pony(It's Ok)" and "Love Save the Empty" in her album "Love Save the Empty". Her genre is different from Sia or any of of the others. I would compare her more to someone like Sara Bareilles or Yael Naim but of course every artist is a little different. Her songs have been featured on a number of shows including The Hills and Jay Leno.

I absolutely LOVE Kate Nash! My friend actually helped me find my love for this artist. My favorite songs by her include Foundations, Merry Happy, Mouthwash, Kiss that Grrl and Do Wah Doo. Her voice is so lovely and her music is so happy sounding. I'm sorry but thats the only way that I can describe it. She is super popular in England but her music is becoming more well known here in the States.

Matt and Kim is an amazing group, they are a SEMI- punk (take note on the semi, they are not emo at all!!) dance group with only two people. They have a ton of good songs but my favorites include; Cameras, Daylight, Good Ol' Fashion Nightmare, and Good for Great. All of those songs are from the albums Grand, and Sidewalks. They were amazing at Lollapalooza last summer.

And last but certainly not least, Ellie Goulding. Ellie Goulding has one of the best, most unique voice out there. She is also much bigger in the UK but she is still kind of popular here. She even preformed at the royal wedding. My favorite songs of hers are Lights and Starry Eyed. I would say that her genre is indie- pop and a little electronic. She is going to be at Lollapalooza this year and I am so excited to finally see her in concert.

There are many more and probably more to come! But these are some of my favorites at the moment

HOTEL PHOTOSHOOT

Over the past weekend I saw my friend from fashion camp, Mati. She lives out of the state so I was so excited to see her. We stayed at a hotel suite for the night and did tons of shopping and took tons of pictures. It was so fun and it was great to catch up with her. I used picnik, a lovely little photo editing site, to edit my photos, please enjoy. I am the one in most of the pictures.
