Grunge Defined by Fashion

Today I had a lovely photoshoot with two of my friends, Dora and Chloé. Chloé and I styled the outfits in collaboration (although we used mostly her closet). We went to two different locations in the wonderful city of chicago. The first was an old rustic bridge over the Chicago River. This location had a gorgeous view of the skyline and an old warehouse. The next locations we went to was a junk yard. I know, not very glamorous but the contrast between our high-fashion outfits and the begrimed setting of the junk yard was really interesting to shoot. Today was so fun and was a good, much- needed break from studying for final exams. Check out Chloé's blog for more photo's from this shoot, www.chloeakari.blogspot.com  And please click on photo's to enlarge. Happy New Year!

Fall Leaves and Mailboxes

I can't believe I haven't  posted this photo shoot yet (its from all they way back in September) but better late then never. Me and my friend Chloe did a photo shoot at her cousin's house in Wisconsin. Even though it was warm for most of the weekend this day was actually kind of rainy and wet. Chloe and I collaborated on these looks,  hope you enjoy!

The Tory Burch Fashion Event

Hey guys, so last Wednesday I got to do something really special with my friend Chloe and my mom, it was a once in a life time opportunity. So a few weeks ago my mom got an e-mail inviting her to Tory Burch's Fashion show event at the Field Museum. Of course she asked my if  was interested and naturally my answer was yes. I invited my friend Chloe who also knew about the event. When we got to the Field Museum, we entered on the bottom floor to a cocktail party with a DJ. There were Tory Burch models walking around, showing of last years resort collection. It was so fun to people watch and just have fun. After an hour, we all walked up stairs to the main hall of the Field Museum where the fashion show was to take place. We got really lucky and got seats right at the entrance to the catwalk. On our seats were bags full of Macaroons (Tory Burch's favorite food), Bumble and Bumble hair products, a $50 Tory Burch gift card, a Tory Burch tote bag and a free haircut at Solo Salon. And on top of all that, I got to sit next to the executive regional manager for Tory Burch! I told her about my experience with fashion camp in New York and she gave me her card telling me to call her when I want a job. Now on the the actual show!
The Macaroons!

The final three dresses we absolutely STUNNING! Tory Burch really went out of her usual preppy styles and made this entire collection unique to anything she has ever done before and it really shows through these three dresses. One of my favorite looks is the cream fringe jacket with the sequined shirt under neither because it too is not what I expected and more then pleasantly surprised me.  Her Deauville inspired Spring 2012 collection runway show is only Tory Burch's second runway show ever!
Me (left) wearing a conservative grey cap- sleeved dress, a vintage black belt, black tights and grey and red riding boots.

Dolce and Gabbana Fall/Winter

Dolce and Gabbana always makes the most amazing collections, all of them completely different than the last. This one I found particularly unique and creative. Even thought the collection goes together extremely well, each look still leaves you starring because they are all distinctive in their own different way. I am truly blown away by every single look and look forward to see whats in store for Spring and Summer! Here are a few of my favorite looks.

I really love this look, the lace and the print add a whole other dimension to this incredible look.

The combination of different sized stars and the black handbag look amazing and add a lot to this already awesome black dress.

I LOVE this soooo much! The sequin dress with the stars is so glam and with the black coat, a level of drama is added to the look and it looks amazing.

This look is rocking the manly coat and hat but the pattern gives it a feminine touch.

Again, love the sparkle stars and the gold adds a nice touch.

J'adore the mix of patterns and prints to make this awesome look, the skirt is absolutely stunning.

Sorry I haven't been posting in a while, school has been very stressful and I fell like I am just now getting into the swing of things.
Toodles!

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do and find inspiration in them.

Celebrate Summer- Sun Drenched Days and Starlit Nights

Summer is filled with breaking the rules and standing apart, ignoring your head and following your heart.

Summer, you seriously deserve a speeding ticket! While I have just had the best summer of my life, I am so sad to say that it is coming to a close. Over the past summer I have traveled many places including Tennessee, Ohio, New York and Michigan. I started the summer with a relaxing two weeks in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. My Birthday was quite lovely with a few friends and endless amounts of sushi and scary movies. Of course the highlight of my summer, New York City was an incredible experience that I will never forget. A few days after I got back from New York I spent the weekend at Lollapalooza, a summer music festival in sweet home Chicago. I saw Ellie Goulding, Kid Cudi, Arctic Monkeys, Fitz and the Tantrums and many more. So over the last remaining weeks or summer I have been relaxing and replenishing up for school. Ugh school. The following pictures are just a few pictures that I recently took at my grandparent's house in Ohio.

Sparkle and Fade striped sweater, Mark. sunglasses and American Apparel Bow in lilac.

Thanks you friends, family and 2011 for giving the best summer I could ever ask for.

The tans will fade but the memories will last forever.

NEW YORK CITY....best week of my life!!!!

So a few weeks ago I was given the incredible opportunity to go to New York City for a Fashion Camp. This camp taught us everything there is to know about different jobs in the fashion industry. We were visited by number of people from bloggers to editor, stylists and even fashion broadcasters. While we were in New York I also took tons of pictures and here are some of them. Enjoy!

That would an M&M in a glass of water with those little beads that come in little packages when you buy a new handbag.
